• Payment information: Transaction IDs and payment status (we do not store card or bank details — these are handled by Razorpay).
• Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected via server logs and analytics tools.
• Institution data: Organisation name, contact details, and student-enrolment information if you register as an institute partner.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
• Deliver mock tests, generate personalised performance reports, and calculate rank analytics.
• Process payments and send transaction confirmations.
• Send service-related communications (e.g., OTPs, purchase receipts, critical updates).
• Improve our platform, question quality, and user experience through aggregated usage insights.
• Comply with legal obligations applicable to Indian edtech companies.

We do not use your data for targeted advertising or sell it to any third party.

3. Data Sharing

We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Payment processor: We share transaction details with Razorpay to process payments securely.
• Institution partners: If you are enrolled via an institution, that institution can view your performance results within their dashboard.
• Service providers: We may use third-party cloud hosting and analytics services. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal proceedings.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed session tokens, and access controls to protect your data. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use session cookies strictly necessary for authentication and to keep you logged in. We also use Google Analytics to understand aggregate user behaviour and improve the platform. You can opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use tracking pixels or third-party advertising cookies.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable Indian data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
• Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing.

7. Children's Privacy

MockOrbit is designed for students aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of MockOrbit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
